Fairy lights, orchids and a
bowl of green curry
Authentic Thai cooking in the heart of York. Fresh herbs, traditional spices and dishes made with care, to enjoy in our snug room on Micklegate or to take home with you.

The name Siam dates back to 1948, before the country officially became the Kingdom of Thailand, and it felt right for a small Thai restaurant like ours. You will find us on Micklegate, on the western side of the River Ouse, in a warm and welcoming room of wooden floors, batik wall hangings and fairy lights.

There is wine by the bottle to go alongside the curries and stir fries. If you would rather eat at home, the whole menu is available to take away, and we deliver too.
If you fancy making an evening of it, we also offer a 50-minute personalised massage, Thai, Swedish, hot stone or back, neck and shoulder, followed by a two course dinner at our table.

Diners often say the food tastes like being in Thailand: fragrant, balanced and never greasy, with the green curry and the soups mentioned again and again.
The service comes up constantly. People describe friendly, attentive staff who chat, look after the table and make an evening of it.
Many find the room cosy and warmly lit, a good spot for a quiet dinner for two, with the early bird menu a favourite way to try more of the kitchen.
